My name is Austin and the cruise there was amazing! One thing that made me review this was one of the staff or cleaners there named Abraham. He was so chill and friendly and polite! He cleaned our cabin so neatly and better yet brought us new and clean towels when ours was dirty. I think Abraham deserves a day off and a raise within the work he has done for us! One negative thing I didn’t like about our trip was that I didn’t know that you had to pay for everything like wifi drinks and etc but I didn’t care and to be honest just the pools the excursions and buffet was completely fine! This was the best cruise by far I have visited! I met so much new friends on that cruise and the vibe was amazing when it came to the young club and needing to fight all the fun and chaos!
We (wife and husband 70's) were a little concerned about taking an MSC cruise. There were a number of bad reviews overall. Because of the price we decided to try it. The embarkation process was quick and painless. We were on the ship in quick order and deposited our luggage in the room and went to the buffet. The food was okay. The room was spotless and even though we had booked an inside room we had been upgraded to a balcony. Our cabin attendant kept the room in good order. The entertainment was good but not exceptional. The food was marginal but as this was an Italian ship we considered that it was European style. At any rate, we did not starve. It did take us about 30 seconds to figure out the elevator system. There only 2 stops on this 5 day cruise. We normally do not get off the ship as we have seen these stops a number of times. We did make an exception at Porto Plata, DR as we had not been there before. The price was unbelievable low so we would rate this cruise as very good, well worth the money.
Our November sailing on the MSC Seaside was to complete our assessment of the ship-in-a-ship offering as we’d experienced the NCL Haven, Celebrity Retreat and the new Princess Signature Class offerings, so the Yacht Club was last on the list to examine. Our final assessment based on this sailing..,The MSC Yacht Club is absolutely magnificent and scores well above all the rest in the guests services area. There are a few things that needs attention like food choices but it still comes out at the top in value for money, embarkation/ disembarkation, customer service, pampering and personal support. The MSC Yacht Club makes you feel special from the very beginning…before stepping feet on the ship and the special warm care and attention doesn’t stop until the very end of the voyage. MSC’s private island (Ocean Cay) is amazing. I give an edge to NCL Haven for food quality; Celebrity Retreat for a myriad of food selection and Princess for great entertaining Lounge performances. Otherwise MSC comes out on top for everything else. Our MSC Seaside cruise included fantastic shows, great crew appreciation programs (four invited “hosted” functions in four days); theme nights that included staff participation; an amazingly large gym, Spa and “wow” Thermal Suites; a dedicated picturesque lounge; quiet easy dining and a private pool area with bar and all day food service. So, what are the nik-noy negatives that can be listed but are well below the “oh-well” who cares level? > Daily program is not posted until day before which hammers your early planning. > Children/families are included in Yacht Club special areas, but as example the pool is too small for children’s play and becomes a noisy area. > The pool deck smoking area is too close to the Cabanas. The area needs to be re-arranged. > Very little shade on the pool deck..additional Cabanas can be added and the sitting space rearranged. > Food services and delivery are great but food quality seems to be lacking. Although menu changed daily, the listed menu items were a challenge to decide on recipe combinations. Overall, yes, we’re happy with our MSC “Yacht Club” cruise experience.
Let's face it. Most of us picked this cruise line because of the price. Then they complain & nitpick. Well, if you want 1st class service, take Azamara or Windstar. My room was big & comfortable. There was a variety of things to choose from at SeaShore Restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner where we recieved great service at our assigned table at dinner, or where we were seated at breakfast & lunch. The buffet on 16 gave us even better options at breakfast than the one at 8. Staff was courteous & pleasant. I always felt the restaurant staff did the best they could, especially dealing with rude & arrogant guests. Common rooms & bathrooms always clean. Women themselves don't always flush, urinate on seat without cleaning it, or not putting paper towels in trash container, yet they're the ones.who complain the most. I've been on many different cruise lines. They have all changed.
