Enjoy sweeping views from one of more than 1,400 balconies on Regal Princess or stroll on the SeaWalk®, a glass-floor walkway extending 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship! From the tranquil Sanctuary, a retreat reserved for adults, to the dazzling Princess WaterColour Fantasy light and water show and more, you'll find diversions for every mood.
This was our 2nd cruise on the Regal Princess out of Galveston Texas. The Regal Princess is a ship geared toward enjoying the day without the hustle and bustle of the larger cruise ships that are geared to providing excitement for 24 hours a day. Using the Medallion as a key to all activities is one awesome way to get around. The food in the buffet is decent and well prepared but the hustle at breakfast was hectic. We spent our breakfast in Sabatini's with very few patrons taking advantage of this restaurant. It is very sad to see that Princess is pulling out of Galveston and being replaced by the Maga ships from other lines. If you want to have a peaceful and entertaining time for a get away week I would recommend that you take the opportunity to take the Regal Princess before it leaves the Galveston port.
First time cruise - 4 day to Cozumel on Regal Princess. Check in was smooth. First hiccup was waiting in terminal with hundreds of people not being able to board. After boarding, was advised to get lunch first and went to sample their buffet. It was good. More delays and Captain announced we would be delayed due to an oil spill that affected the ship. In short, the ship was delayed by 1 1/2 days ( 1/4 of our trip) until the CoastGuard cleared us to go. They offered us 50% cruise credit if we stayed. To be fair, the Captain apprised us of the situation many times. Staff went about their business with cheerfulness and very helpful. We didnt get to Cozumel but had to turn around to make time to return. However, all the staff onboard were great especially the Entertainment Cruise Director Guissepe as he had a herculean task to keep everyone on board entertained especially the casino and shopping guests who couldnt start till we sailed. On the third night it was Halloween and they decorated the ship, made Halloween style foods and everyone had a wonderful night of Halloween dancing and partying. The shows were very good and the entertainers were Broadway worthy. The buffets were good, pizza on deck fantastic and the formal dining was excellent. We did not plump for the extra packages so did not have to pay extra for the dining in the Allegro room. However, it felt very much like fine dining with white linen service. The food was amazing with a different menu each night. Franco the maitre'd, Romelo the assistant manager and many of the waiters and waitresses made us feel special and were happy to accomodate requests for a special table or foods. There was an army of crew that kept the ship sparkling clean and the room service was better than 5 star hotels. Our room was cleaned and tidied each morning and when we returned in the evening it was sometimes re-tidied. Shout out to Marynell for taking care of us. Despite all the hiccups at the start, it was a very enjoyable trip largely thanks to the enormous crew whose thankless job was to keep us all entertained, well fed and happy. Wish I had known how delightful cruising was as I would have started a long time ago. Ive set my sights on my next cruise already. Thank you Regal Princess. Also thank you to the Allegro staff for making my daughter's birthday dinner so memorable with a delicious cake and song!
Regal Princess Review We’re 66 and 73, active cruisers with nearly 200 days at sea over 22 cruises on Princess, Holland America, NCL, Celebrity, Carnival, and Oceania. We usually prefer smaller ships but chose this 21-day sailing on the Regal Princess for the itinerary—our first time on such a large ship (3,500+ passengers). Embarkation & Medallion Experience Boarding was quick and easy. Princess’ Medallion system makes everything effortless—room access, drinks, purchases, even finding each other onboard. The app worked great, though I wish the ship had more signage to help with directions. Cabin (Deck 15 Forward) The cabin was comfortable, with an incredibly good bed and a small balcony. No sitting area, but plenty of storage and a nice bathroom setup. We brought a few cruise hacks that helped—magnetic hooks, an over-the-door organizer, and packing cubes. Our steward, Nah, was excellent and kept everything spotless. Dining Room service breakfast was awful—cold food, weak coffee, and not much choice. We did that once and never again. Most mornings we ate at the Horizon Court buffet (great congee, omelets, salads, and soups) or grabbed lattes at the International Café. We alternated dinners between our assigned dining room (Symphony) and the specialty venues included with our Princess Premier package. The Crown Grill lobster and Kansas City sirloin were outstanding, though the NY strip was disappointing. Sabatini’s was good overall. The Caesar salads were consistently poor everywhere—bland dressing and odd presentation. Otherwise, food quality and service were solid, and they easily handled my light dietary tweaks (veggies instead of starches, etc.). Entertainment & Activities Entertainment was hit and miss—some forgettable comedians, but the big production shows were fantastic. Bravo and Born to Dance were both Broadway quality, with amazing singers, dancers, and staging. The Piazza had live music every night, from swing to pop, and one all-ship jam session that was a blast. Pickleball was surprisingly popular—two courts, ages 30 to 80, and a fun, social crowd even on windy sea days. The daily “Love Boat” horn at noon followed by the captain’s update was a nice nostalgic touch. Cruise Director Aaron was upbeat, funny, and everywhere at once. Overall Despite being larger than we usually prefer, the Regal Princess impressed us. Great food, friendly crew, strong entertainment, and the Medallion system worked beautifully. We had much more fun than expected and wouldn’t hesitate to sail Princess again.
While the service on the Ship was very good the ship was let down by the lack of dispersed sites that were for the cruiser. Everything is centered on the prominard or the pool. While.great for people.who are physically impaired it limits the variation as to experiences. Entertoanment was up to par for a larger ship on a longer voyage with the on boarded entertainment based on the regular entertainers transiting ships. Really prefer a ships design that provide descrete and secluded areas that make the experience personal. Staff are very good as they all try there very best to male you feel.at home and as your time on board meets your needs and expectations. Getting back on board after a day on land can be a bit frustrating. This seems not to be aligned with the crew buy the punters that cant remember to take the gear out of your pockets BEFORE going through the scanner. People are people. Officers are freindly and have the knack to make you welcolm. All in all a good experience.
