Ship Reviews

This was our second Princess cruise and it happened to be on the same ship. We normally use another cruise line but this itinerary sold us. The ports were awesome! The medallion use was great. We loved that fancy coffees and water were included. I loved that you were able to get lobster in the main dining room and it was included! The staff was amazing and friendly. We had the same waiters every night and they did a wonderful job. Being able to use the internet and message/text people was amazing! (the other line is not good about internet and waters) We were not impressed with the entertainment. There were a few funny comedians and a few shows that were good. They kept switching out comedians/entertainers at ports. One was basically a kids magician/birthday party entertainer on the mainstage. Not good. Also, there is nothing to do at later at night. Everything shut down. We missed a 24 hr restaurant too. There is the International cafe but it is loud and serves cold sandwiches. You can order hot food on the app which we did once and had it delivered to the International Cafe (New Years Eve) but it really wasn't great. There is also not a lot of seating there. It is great for daytime use but they need a 24 hr. restaurant. The main areas were really nice and up to date but the cabin was well worn. The curtain had holes in it, carpet was stained, wood on desk and drawers was worn and drawers were broken. The toilet had cracks in it and the seal was off. We also had a holey bed cover at one point. Our room steward was amazing though. It was probably the smallest shower on a cruise ship we have ever had. It would have been nice to have a hand held shower head like other cruises we have been on have had. We did like the layout of the ship and the ease of getting around. We were impressed with Princess but not the entertainment or the condition of the cabins.

The service is wonderful. The food is good but there could be more ethnic varieties. The buffet is small, and we were disappointed with the offerings. There are plenty of games and other family activities. None of the shows in the Princess Theater appealed to us so we didn’t attend any of them. The Laugh Lounge featured several very talented comedians. We enjoyed the Lotus pool, which is the covered one. We like that the pool has actual stairs for easy entry and exit. That is very important to the elderly and people with difficulty using a ladder. The Lotus pool also has tables and chairs for playing games and eating while still being near other people. We like the library, which is very peaceful, with an ocean view. The Game Room, next to the library, is large enough to accommodate several groups. There is a large selection of games and puzzles for those who don’t bring their own. We spent one day at the Sanctuary. It was very comfortable and we were offered food and beverages several times. The International Cafe is not centrally located near the Atrium, but is near the casino. The sandwiches and desserts are of good quality and there are several choices of breads and fillings. There, we discovered the Pizza Muffin, which is absolutely wonderful. In the Bordeaux Dining Room, our servers, Enrique, Komang and Supra were fantastic and very funny. The OceanNow service performed well. The embarkation and disembarkation processes were very smooth and quick. We don’t go to the port until two hours after the process begins so we never have to wait. The beds on Princess are very comfortable. We didn’t like the Atrium on the Coral. We much prefer the larger Piazza such as the one on the Enchanted Princess. The Atrium is very small, and there is no space for gatherings, people watching while having cocktails, or dancing. Dancing is available in the Wheelhouse Lounge as well as other places, but it just isn’t as fun there.
