The recent cruise we took with Regent Seven Seas Voyager was very enjoyable and memorable.The very first day we arrived it was our 40 wedding anniversary. I asked Vladimir, GM, if we could have a cake or something to celebrate our anniversary.After dinner we were informed something was specially prepared for our table.Then 8-10 waiters came to our table and sang"Let me call you sweetheart" It truly was special. The food variety and selection was quite good and I was able to find a nice red wine to complement the meal. One day I asked the chief if I could have a few brats for lunch.The next day .They brought it to my table.The crew and managers are very good at what they do.They work hard and it seems like when we arrive on board we always recognize familiar faces.When we have a cocktail before dinner we enjoy the talent of your bartenders who are quite skilled in their profession The entertainment crew were diverse and talented.We both enjoyed the cruise and looking forward in traveling again in the near future.
We took a 20 day cruise to the Norwegian fjords with RSSC and really enjoyed it. Regent's staff cannot do enough for you - they pay attention, are unfailingly polite, welcoming, and friendly, and they make sure that we feel as though we are treasured family members. Some quick examples: after 2 days of ordering a white bordeaux at lunch, our sommelier started bringing it over as one of the bottles in his hand without me asking. Our favorite server, I Putu, not only was efficient, got EVERY order modification correct every time, but also had fun with us - would joke that we only got 2 shrimp because the third was in his pocket for later! Whenever we would be going out for a shore excursion, we would see everyone cleaning and sanitizing the ship - including shining the brass on the handrails on every deck, painting the outside, varnishing our balcony railings, and doing deep cleans in public areas. The Duo Rubenesque worked overtime to involve everyone in their show, getting the dance floor jumping and pulling us out of our seats to join in. The onboard activities duo of Kyle and Dean were so fun and friendly, and we enjoyed all of the entertainment especially from the Signature Orchestra and Mattia. The ports - we had planned to take a few ports "off", not booking shore excursions, and decided ahead of time that we'd just go into town those days. Not knowing better, we picked Sundays to do this - when virtually all the shops in town are closed! Some ports, while scenic, had little to do, which actually was nice as it allowed you some down time. One solid recommendation is to go to the NordKapp (North Cape) as it was a great experience! The food was lovely from start to finish. We enjoyed the variety we had and were happy with virtually everything we ate and drank, including many specialty drinks that we got to try for the first time (and found a few that we will not bother ordering again - good to know when it's all inclusive vs. paying for it!) Our room was very quiet - no noise from above or below, and very limited from the side rooms (maybe we'd hear a loud sneeze but nothing else). Very comfortable, and the blackout curtains were a MUST when you are sailing in the land of the midnight sun - Regent provides two sets - one at the balcony and one next to the bed - so you can wake early, close the bedside blackouts, go into the sitting room, and open those curtains. A nice touch! Packing - we looked at the weather and packed appropriately - and they had record heat while there. Pro tip: always pack 1-2 outfits for the 'other' weather - I had a few short sleeved shirts and capris with me which was a lifesaver when it got up to 78F/25C unexpectedly! And at North Cape it was 35F/1C, so glad we had windbreaker coats with sweaters underneath! We dressed up (it's optional) for the two nights that were designated and almost everybody else did - glad we sparkled it up a bit. Since the pool is outdoors, only a few brave souls used it, but the hot tubs did get quite a bit of use. Also, good walking shoes/sneakers/hikers are a must for some of the shore excursions! Quite a bit of walking on some of the excursions, and some hikes were strenuous.
