Silver Muse

Silver Muse

Silver Muse is our inspirational work of art. With her eight dining venues, spacious outdoor areas, and up-to-the-minute technology, she’s the best place between sea and sky.

Silver Muse marked a new era of ultra-luxury ocean travel for us—enhancing the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodation that are our hallmarks but raising the bar in terms of luxury. Silver Muse offers a wealth of enhancements to the onboard experience while satisfying our uncompromising requirements for comfort, service, dining, and quality for the world’s most discerning travellers.

Silver Muse pioneered the balance between small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodation. One of the larger ships in our fleet, she offers eight dining offers, plenty of onboard entertainment, and a wide choice of public areas. She’s simply divine!

Ship Reviews

How can anyone expect to see the Greek Isles in seven days? Impossible, in my view. And even at 14 days with back-to-back voyages, we still felt like we only scratched the surface. Yet Silversea has done a great job putting these two voyages together so that no ports were visited twice, and you still had exceptional port tours every day. Unfortunately, the busy port tour schedule did not allow us to get to know the charming and beautiful Muse as well as we would have wished - many treks were daylong and we disembarked early and returned late. Still, we find it difficult to find much of anything to criticize about this idyllic voyage - the food, the wine, and above all the stellar service make it plain that any competitor will have a hard time besting Silversea in this class. Our Silver Suite was a dream - we were so disappointed to learn that this fall's drydock of the Muse will include disappearing 24 of those fabulous suites in favor of adding smaller ones - obviously so corporate can book more passengers! We also fell in love with Indochine and were disappointed to learn it is being phased out for a SALT lab. We hope the new Muse that emerges from dry dock next year has all the charm and beauty of the Muse we knew!

Owner's Suite was a dream - definitely will look forward to booking again. Butler service on the Muse is impeccable - your every wish is their command. The caviar was tasty albeit portions were small. We prefer toast points to blinis. When toast points were requested, the kitchen gave us slices of toast. We made it work! Every dining experience was exceptional with the exception of La Dame - meat overcooked and sent back, etc. Table wine at La Dame was above par. Pool never seemed crowded - which surprised us. We always were able to find the chaise we wanted. Enjoyed bingo and trivia and made new friends there. Aft deck La Terrazza was a great way to start the morning and their breakfast buffets were special. Altantide was 5-star and we returned more than once. Spa was mediocre - massages overpriced and under-whelming. Excursions were wonderful - night concert at Ephesus was the bomb!

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by what I found on a SS vessel after a long absence, when I abandoned it a decade or more ago after I felt it had slipped a great deal, and turned instead to Seabourn. Now that I feel Seabourn itself has turned south, I booked on the Muse for a two week Greek Islands cruising experience to try out SS again. Seas were very smooth. Not surprisingly, the Muse handled well in mostly calm waters. The food, for me the most important element of a luxury cruise, was quite good in its MDR, the Atlantide. Attractive room, well-laid out and well managed. Varied, changing menu each day with appealing specials and good , tasty dishes coming out of the kitchen. Plus, unlike Seabourn, the MDR is open for breakfast and lunch so I do not have to venture forth into the busy, crowded and noisy buffet La Terrazza, and I can avoid having to touch the often loaded with germs serving utensils that often lead to catching colds and other ship-borne illnesses. The service in the Atlantide and the other dining venues on board was excellent. Terrazzo at night the Italian restaurant offering, was only fair. La Dame, the supplement French, was quite good and reasonably priced. Japanese place fair and Indochine OK. I liked the included wines, many Greek offerings that were quite good, but not the average at best house champagne. The service was markedly good in Atlantide and in all dining venues. Fast, professional and accommodating. The staff was well-trained, with many SS veterans. And they got to know our names after just a few days on board, a former mark of Seabourn. They really were an excellent crew. Yes I agree the spacious cabins still with tubs have too small a shower, and only single sinks. And I do not like the ladder access into and from the pool, preferring instead the more modern gradual stepped entrance with handrail I found on Seabourn. And the chaise seating around the pool is limited, with too many dining tables and chairs and cocktail type seating areas, mosly unused during the day except for the dinner service at night for the Grill, in the shaded areas under the overhang, taking the place of the chaises most want that should be provided on a hot weather, pool-intensive Med cruise. But this poolside chaise deficiency problem is the same as Seabourn now offers. I found the 7-year old ship not be to be tired and run down and I say that knowing it is going in for a scheduled retrofit later this year. Some minor issues we experienced but not enough to deter future sailings. Overall, I like the direction of SS, even under the Royal Caribbean ownership, and find it superior to what has become of Seabourn under current Carnival ownership and future direction with too few ships remaining to cover the world's oceans properly. S Muse's public areas are spacious and comfortable, with a number of bars available. Entertainment at night was average for a 600-person ship this size, but with a great dance duo. Good cultural lecturer. All in all, a very nice cruise that invites future SS sailings.

We had an absolutely fabulous time on Silver Muse, sailing from Tokyo to Singapore. We love sea days and there was a good balance of days in port to days at sea. As the ship was sailing without passengers from Singapore the crew were excited to go home I think - as a result there was a real atmosphere of fun. The only downside was one port stop was canceled for reasons unknown. The crew were absolutely fabulous and the ship is still in first class condition. The food can get a little bit samey on such a long cruise but the crew did a great job of changing things up. It's a pity they don't have SALT but it wasn't a huge issue. Our butler was fantastic - unfortunately the room attendant was sick and we had a couple of different people but they all did a terrific job. We loved it and would do the same trip all over again.
